What is the difference between oak chips and oak extract?
Oak extract is high-alcohol (60%) solution that has been steeped with oak chips and assumed the oak flavor. It is convenient to use. Oak chips typically impart a more natural flavor in wine.
What is BEST OAK®?
Only select French Oak from the Alsace Region of France is called Best Oak. Harvested from certified forests and aged for 24 months, the wood undergoes a special chipping process before milling.
What makes BEST OAK® unique from other oak chips?
J.Rettenmaier & Söhne selects and uses only the best staves – aged for 24 months – in making BEST OAK® products. Its special milling process ensures virtually all dust is removed from the oak chips; all BEST OAK® chips are uniform in size with even toasting.

How long will it take to ship my order via UPS Ground?
Visit UPS Ground Time-In-Transit Maps to determine transit time and route (enter the origin zip code). UPS Ground service takes between 1 to 6 Business Days* (Please read "Attention" below) from Seattle, WA depending on the distance between the origin & destination!
Addresses on the West Coast: UPS Ground transit time is between1 to 3 business days.
Addresses on the East Coast: transit typically is 5 business days (one week; i.e., if sent on a Friday, you'll receive it the next Friday).
*ATTENTION: This is a UPS transit estimate and does not include the day it's shipped, Saturdays, Sundays, & holidays (OR OUR PROCESSING TIME!). We usually ship most items within a few business days of payment clearing. Business Days are considered to be Monday through Friday.
Is there a packaging & handling fee?

How are the shipping charges calculated?
Shipping charges are calculated using the UPS Rate Calculator. Rates are estimated by the weight (and size) of the item(s) and the distance from our zip code to yours.
Will you send me a tracking #?
Yes, your tracking # will automatically be emailed to you after we print the shipping label through PayPal Shipping. If you don't receive it for some reason, please email us and we will send / resend it. Sometimes your email may block it.

How do I track my shipment?

Is it possible to ship my order via one of UPS's air services – Next Day Air, 2nd Day Air, 3-Day Select – instead of UPS Ground?

When will my item(s) be shipped?
Orders usually ship within two business days of PayPal advising that payment has cleared. Extra-large or unusually shaped packages can take a little longer for proper packaging.
For RUSH orders: please contact Just Best Oak during ordering process to obtain new shipping total. Shipping can be changed from UPS ground to UPS air for additional cost.

How many times will UPS attempt delivery?
UPS attempts delivery three times. A note is left on your door if when delivery was attempted and no one answered door. For more info, please see UPS Delivery Attempts FAQ
Can I ship to a PO Box via UPS?
No, you cannot. UPS must have a street address. If for some reason you only provide a PO Box shipping address during order, an email requesting your street address for UPS delivery or your permission to ship it via US Postal Service will be sent to you. This can slow shipment.

Can I ask a seller to ship an item to someone else's mailing address
Yes. PayPal buyers can provide a seller with an alternative address to send an item to someone else or to another location. However, alternative addresses cannot be confirmed by PayPal. Some sellers only ship to Confirmed Addresses verified by PayPal.
How do I confirm my address through PayPal?
To confirm your address, you will first need to add a credit card to your PayPal account.
